ロバート・ダウニーJr.が2020年に自然環境保護団体｢Footprint Coalition｣立ち上げ

映画『アイアンマン』のトニー・スターク役でおなじみの俳優ロバート・ダウニーJr.が、米Amazonがラスベガスで開催したRe：MARSカンファレンスで基調講演に登壇し、ロボット工学とナノテクノロジーを利用して地球環境を改善する組織 “Footprint Coalition” を立ち上げ、2020年4月までに正式に活動を開始することを発表。

MARS の舞台の上で ロバート・ ダウニーJr. は、「ロボット工学とナノテクノロジーを利用すれば、完全ではないにせよ、10年間で地球をきれいにすることができる （Between robotics and nanotechnology, we could clean up the planet significantly, if not totally, in 10 years） 」と語った。すでに ロバート・ ダウニーJr. は専門家との話し合いによって知見を得ており、今後の数か月間にわたって組織を正しく立ち上げるための作業に取り組み、すぐれた人材を起用していくようだ。
